Natural Methods of Ant Removal:

It doesn’t matter whether your home is invaded by pharaoh ants, fire ants, black ants, carpenter ants, or any other type for that matter – the reality of having your home infested with the little beasties can be extremely frustrating.

Furthermore, endeavouring to eliminate the little darlings in an organic, green and eco-friendly manner can be even more difficult. So how do you kill carpenter ants (or any other type)? Certainly, the temptation exists to simply purchase a highly toxic chemical and start spraying like mad!! We would, however, urge you not to resort to the use of toxic chemicals except, perhaps, as a last resort. Instead, try some of our simple natural methods for eliminating ants naturally.

Clearly, when seeking a natural way to get rid of ants, the most obvious way to get rid of ants from your home is to ensure that they are not able to enter in the first place. You must therefore try and eliminate them from outside your home in addition to getting rid of all points of entry. You should caulk in some areas and possibly spray insulation in others. Try and keep deep mulch piles and bushes from touching the house and keep any piles of wood as far as possible from your home. If you have a tree which is infested with ants, try placing a band of petroleum jelly around the circumference of the tree.

Other tips for getting rid of ants include using vinegar to clean your home (in particular the kitchen area) as ants appear to dislike the odour, and the cleaning will remove the crumbs which are so appealing to ants. Try sprinking corn meal in your yard – the corn meal will be ingested by the ants but will then swell up inside their stomachs and kill them. Yet another method involves the use of crushed red pepper, cloves, cinnamon, and bay leaves – all of which are disliked by ants. You may simply use these inside or outside your house to create an unpleasant environment for them.

There are many many more hints and tips on killing ants using natural methods discussed on the various posts on this site. Please take the time to peruse this site to pick up helpful advice on the subject of ant pest control. We hope you find the information both helpful and informative.
